politics, society No Comments »Like a flock of sheep amidst a school of tiger sharks, lost in themselves day in, day out, waiting and wondering, wandering and hoping for the best of the best while working toward a common end result… nothingness.[Small disclaimer]: My words are weapons and in the end, ultimately – no matter how you look at what I’m about to say, brutal, funny, cynical, harsh… I’m not wrong about a majority of what I’m about to write, and depending on your perception and how blind you are to the truth, you can deny yourself of these words that are to follow, or you can look at them with open eyes, and perhaps, maybe, if only for a fraction of a second, see beyond what you’re simply reading, and remove yourself from ‘they’.
With that, I welcome you to the harsh reality of this cultureless rock I call the United States.
I’ve always said, people that quote themselves are morons
“Being able to be genuinely happy is having the ability to simply ignore what’s going on around you effectively… completely” – Self
… Every now and then though, I come up with some one-liners that are worth noting.
The adage, “ignorance is bliss” was stated and started when? I don’t know nor care, but what I do know and care about is the fact that in knowledge and acceptance of the facts that are before me, I’ve found a sense of bliss, in knowing that I’ve seen a way of life that is dismal and bleak, hell on earth, negative, pathetic and frankly not worth saving. I’m no activist-hippy, but it still doesn’t stop me from understanding what we do to our planet. Fact of the matter is this: Nuclear, Slash-and-burn, Starvation, Genocide, Rape, Murder, Child Molestation, Politics, Corporatism, Feudalism, Imperialism, Pollution, Religion, Porn, War, Militants, Torture, Execution, Poverty, Malnutrition, Plague, Epidemic, Pandemic, Cancer, Crime, Assault, Destruction, Mutilation; all are real, all are here, all are on-going.
We live in a world that is overrun with mankind’s mistakes, and in a time like this – what do we do, as Americans? We shop, dance, party, eat, watch television, jog, run, rot in a cubicle, serve, play, drive, commute, buy pets, eat some more – and lead meaningless existences to mankind, because being self-serving, self-righteous, self-concerned, has been “ok” in our book since we were born. Preserve our families, not our culture – we can’t, we don’t have one. Our founding fathers were running from their culture, their religion and their pasts and here we are, awake in a society of opiates, filled to the brim with first world masks and third world realities, hiding ourselves from the homeless, guarding our children from the world, and working away at a desk, rotting on MySpace, and pretending that all’s right in the world, because we’re healthy, we eat, we sleep in warm beds and we’re all ok… for now.
What are we going to do when the system falls apart? When the empire built by our ancestors comes crashing down like the Stock Exchange on Black Monday? When all the greed and selfish corporate shit, backs up this nation’s plumbing, and we get to swim in it? When another nation boots the US out of the position of “World Super Power” and decides that I’m not the only one that sees America as a sea of fat bodied fucks that care nothing about the world and take everything for themselves.
But what can we do? Individuals are just that… individuals… like little old worthless you, without a voice. After all, this plague of ours is too far embedded in the hearts of this nation to actually be able to fix it…
Here’s one: Why add a generation to this mess? Why are we still adding to this horrific mess we’ve created? Its feeding more fuel to an already out of control brush fire… I don’t understand it, really. I could see it already; We all get to raise a child in this cultureless nation just like everyone else has been doing for decades. We get to sit here in our house, watching our televisions, while our offspring suck their lives into a box playing Monsters Inc. on repeat. We could take our spawn to play soccer and root for their team like the world cup depends on it. We could all lie to their faces every year and tell them that a fat man dressed in a red pimp outfit breaks into our houses, steals our food and drink, and leaves consumer goods under a tree.
I’m not too sure that sounds like a great idea. I’d love to eventually have to force raise my spawn to be in the defensive constantly, thanks to the greedy always taking what they don’t deserve. To prepare it for the inevitable victimization that we’ve created against our own as well since we can’t control our need to want so badly that we’re willing to kill each other for it. But, the world’s always been a tough place to live, and it’s always been… This entire world is going to hell in a hand basket, environmentally, economically, morally, and religiously. We, as Americans, the most powerful nation on earth do nothing to help, do nothing because we can’t; we can’t because we’ve already lost. We haven’t any control, or voice, nor will or desire to do anything because we feel helpless, and hopeless.
So we sit, and we work. We do what it takes to ensure we’re personally secure and simply add to the problem, every day, day in, day out. In the end, we’re nothing but pawns.
Maybe if we’d had a little more humanity, a little more civility, a LOT more intelligence, we could have been a better society, a better nation, a better, more acceptable place to live. Instead we’re given a means to an end, and an end that is nothing and means nothing, will always mean nothing – no matter who you are, or what you do. Save a dog, write a blog, sign a petition; we’ve already lost, and we’re going nowhere as a result.
I’ll attack the fundamentally flawed government, the citizen under its control, and every organization within it sooner or later. From Green Peace to The NRA, are all one in the same, feeding into the same system the same way and not using the voice they’ve been given to do what’s right for one another for their own neighborhoods, to their neighboring nations. It’s pathetic and flawed every facet, every nook, every cranny… and I’m glad to say this with a smile on my face, because I can see, with everlasting glorious clarity, exactly what we’ve been dealt, and exactly what we’re doing here.
